Unreal Engine 5
For the course "Realtime Environment" at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences I had the following task:
The task was to create a blockout of a indoor and a outdoor scene. I used the opportunity to create a screenshot each day I worked on it to track the process. Below are the progressions of the indoor shots which turned out quite good I think.
For the outdoor Environment I wanted to create some brutalistic buildings in the background. Which after a while turned into both a challenge and a
opportunity, because this way, even though it was an Unreal Engine assignment, I could get some Houdini time to model the brutalistic buildings.
But this was of course taking a lot of time off my other environmental work progress.
One thing I am especially displeased with is the way the mountain rock
entrance turned out. Could have looked way more organic with either the right downloaded models or some further work from my side.
Unreal Engine 5
○ Decals are extremely useful
○ Unreal has a lot of bugs you just need to live with
○ Using Unreals Simulation features for realistic Asset placement
○ Always turn off "AutoExposure"
